Donations Drop Off
SFBFS accepts in-kind donations (see items listed below) at our Guest Services area located in the parking lot on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 33rd Street in Oak Park; enter the parking lot through the alley.
We accept donations:
- Monday, 8am - 4:30pm
- Tuesday, 8am - 4:30pm
- Wednesday, 8am - 7:00pm
- Thursday ,8am - 4:30pm
- Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

In an effort to create more usable space for serving our clients, we have decided to focus specifically on donations which directly affect our nine service and education programs. Out of respect to the individuals SFBFS serves, we ask that all items donated be new or gently used and in working condition.
Items We Can Accept:
- Canned and dry goods
- Fresh produce
- Unexpired, USDA certified, perishable food items (meat, eggs, dairy)
- Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, accessories
- Baby and maternity clothing, shoes, accessories
- Bags, backpacks, briefcases, purses, luggage
- Diapers and baby supplies
- Unexpired baby food and formula
- Pots, pans, plates, silverware
- Linens (blankets, sheets, towels, sleeping bags)
- Art Supplies (textiles, paints, frames, etc.)
- Gently used books, toys, educational materials, stuffed animals
- Bicycles, sports gear
- Unopened toiletries and personal hygiene products
- Office supplies, printer ink/toner, paper
Items SFBFS cannot accept:
In lieu of accepting the following items, we will gladly provide you with contact information for other well-respected social service organizations which could benefit from your generosity.
- Expired perishable baby food items
- Furniture of any kind
- Pillows or mattresses
- House wares (lamps, vacuums, mirrors)
- Food items which have been opened, repackaged or prepared
- Medical supplies or medications
- Large or small appliances
- Soiled or tattered clothing
- Knick knacks
- Broken items (toys, bicycles, computers, etc)
